Lance Boyd appointed vice president, sales for Arxan Technologies

Experienced executive helps win several strategic commercial accounts in 4Q06

BETHESDA, Md., and WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Arxan Technologies Inc. announced today (Friday, 1/26) the appointment of Lance Boyd to the position of vice president, worldwide sales for the company. Arxan Technologies Inc. ("Arxan") provides products and services to actively and durably secure valuable products against piracy, reverse engineering and tampering. The company is an established leader in the defense market and is rapidly expanding its commercial offerings and market outreach.

Boyd is charged with building and executing a worldwide sales strategy to meet Arxan's aggressive
revenue growth goals.

"Every commercial industry is heavily impacted by piracy, since global losses from software piracy alone exceeded $34 billion in 2006. Arxan has the ideal solution to staunch losses from piracy and reverse engineering of products rich in intellectual property," said Mike Dager, Arxan's chief executive officer." Lance has a proven track record in strategic sales and rapid revenue growth. His contributions will be critical to taking Arxan's commercial sales through the next planned phase of expansion."

Boyd has more than 19 years of experience working in the software market with such companies as ESystems, Mercury Computer Systems, Texas Instruments and RedHat Software. He was a member of the team that launched OSE Systems' operations in 1997, helping define their strategic sales objectives in North America, as well as managing their sales, support and consulting organization. Boyd holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Hampden-Sydney College and a master's degree in computer engineering from George Mason University.

"Arxan's anti-piracy and software IP protection technologies solve an urgent and compelling problem for our customers. Unlike competing products, our object-based instrumentation and patented Guardâ„¢ technology provide significantly stronger protection without noticeable performance impact," Boyd said. "Our value proposition is readily apparent and extremely appealing to both current and prospective customers. I look forward to leading the effort to exponentially increase Arxan's commercial revenues and market outreach."

Under Boyd's leadership, Arxan already has won several new strategic commercial accounts in the fourth quarter of 2006. Customers include vendors of electronic design and geological modeling software, DRM application vendors and embedded system manufacturers.
