BETHESDA, Md. — Arxan Technologies Inc. today announced the appointment of Amena Ali as Chief Marketing Officer. As part of Arxan's executive management team, Ali will lead the development and execution of the company's marketing, product management and communication activities.
Arxan Technologies Inc. ("Arxan") protects intellectual property from software piracy, tampering, reverse engineering and any manner of theft. The company is an established leader in the security defense market, and is rapidly expanding its commercial customer base. Ali will be in charge of developing marketing strategies for both Arxan's government and commercial markets.
"With global losses of $34 billion dollars due to software piracy, companies need to include antipiracy security measures as an integral step in their software development life cycle to protect their valuable Intellectual Property, competitive advantage, and revenue. Arxan allows companies to turn the tables on software pirates with our patented technology that dynamically defends, detects, and reacts to attempted attacks." said Mike Dager, Arxan's Chief Executive Officer. "Amena is an experienced and dynamic marketing professional who has led several companies' expansion through an IPO, acquisitions and mergers. We're fortunate to be able to benefit from her diverse talents and energy during this exciting time at Arxan."
Ali has spent the last 16 years developing and implementing marketing strategy and corporate communications for software and telecommunications companies. Most recently, she held the position of Senior Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy at Softek Storage Solutions. Previously, she was Marketing Vice President at EMC Corporation, as well as at Legato Systems and OTG Software, both of which were acquired by EMC. Ali has also held senior marketing positions at MCI, and worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company. She holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University, and an MBA from Yale University.
"Arxan solves a costly and growing piracy problem that affects nearly every hi-tech commercial industry, from electronic design automation to oil and gas exploration software to movies and music" said Ali. "Arxan has experienced significant success in the defense market, and I am excited about the opportunity to build upon our solid foundation in that arena while we position the company for its next wave of growth in the commercial market."
