Michael Dager, CEO and Chairman of the Board
Michael Dager joined Arxan as Chief Executive Officer in July 2006. Mr. Dager has over 22 years of experience in senior level positions at leading technology companies. He came to Arxan from Worksoft, a leading provider of automated enterprise testing solutions, where he served as CEO and Chairman of the Board. Prior to Worksoft, he was president and CEO of OSE Systems Inc.(ENEA.ST), growing the company from a startup in 1997 to the number two embedded operating system supplier in 2001 with a stock market valuation of over $1 billion. Before OSE Systems, Mr. Dager held senior sales management positions at Pure Software (RATL) for many years helping raise the market valuation of the company from start-up level to over $1 billion. During his tenure at Pure the company completed one of the most successful IPOs of 1995. The company was later acquired by Rational Software. He began his career at Texas Instruments in the semiconductor division after earning a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
Amena Ali, Chief Marketing Officer
Amena Ali joined Arxan as Chief Marketing Officer in January 2007. Ms. Ali has over 16 years management experience in software and telecommunications companies ranging in size from $25 million to $30 billion. She has developed and implemented marketing strategy, execution and corporate communications through an IPO, a secondary offering, 3 acquisitions of private companies, and 4 mergers of public companies. Ms. Ali comes to Arxan from Softek Storage Solutions, a leader in data migration and replication software, where she was SVP, Marketing. Her prior experience includes senior marketing positions at EMC Corporation, Legato Systems (acquired by EMC in 2003), and OTG Software (acquired by Legato in 2002). Notable accomplishments during her Legato tenure include repositioning the company around Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), which served as the strategic basis of its $1.3 billion acquisition by EMC. Prior to Legato, at OTG, she supported revenue growth of 160% in two years through successful initiatives such as launching email management software, and doubling the channel business. Ms. Ali has also held executive-level marketing and finance positions at MCI, and was a consultant with Bain & Company. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Yale University.
Dr. Mike Atallah, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Atallah is a co-founder of Arxan Inc. and is a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University. He also serves as Chief Scientist for Arxan Defense Systems, Inc. Dr. Atallah joined the Computer Sciences Department at Purdue University immediately upon obtaining his Ph.D., and has been with Purdue since then. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1986, to Full Professor in 1989, and to Distinguished Professor in 2004.
Dr. Atallah's current research interests are in information security. He received a Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation in 1985. A Fellow of the IEEE, he has served on the editorial boards of many journals, and was selected to serve on the Program Committees of many top conferences and workshops. Dr. Atallah was Keynote and Invited Speaker at many national and international meetings, and a speaker in the Distinguished Colloquium Series of many top Computer Science Departments. He was selected in 1999 as one of the best teachers in the history of Purdue University and included in Purdue's Book of Great Teachers, a permanent wall display of Purdue's best teachers past and present.
Kevin Morgan, Vice President of Engineering
Kevin Morgan joined Arxan technologies in August 2006 as Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Morgan has 26 years of experience in the commercial system software business. He joined MontaVista software in 1999 as the Vice President of Engineering and the sixth permanent employee. Mr. Morgan led the engineering and product strategy for nearly seven years, growing the company to the world’s dominant embedded Linux products provider and one of the largest embedded operating systems businesses overall. He began his career at Hewlett Packard developing kernel level software in the RTE operating system, rising to Laboratory Manager for the HP-UX kernel and overseeing all HP-UX product development. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Lance Boyd, Vice President of International Sales
Lance Boyd joined Arxan as Vice President of Sales in September 2006. Mr. Boyd has over 19 years experience working in the software market with such companies as E-Systems, Mercury Computer Systems, Texas Instruments, and RedHat Software. Mr. Boyd was a member of the initial team that launched OSE Systems' North American operations in 1997. During his tenure he helped define Enea’s strategic sales objectives in North America, as well as managed their sales, support, and consulting organization. His primary focus was growing market share for the OSE real-time operating system (RTOS) in communications infrastructure, wireless, medical and safety-critical markets. Mr. Boyd holds a B.S in physics from Hampden-Sydney College and an M.S. in computer engineering from George Mason University.
Tom van Gorder, Vice President Business Development
Tom van Gorder has more than 20 years of experience in senior level sales and business development positions at leading technology and information publishing companies. Most recently, he was Vice President, Global Channel Sales and Alliances for Macrovision Corporation, the market leader in content protection, software licensing and installation and digital rights management technologies. Prior to Macrovision, van Gorder was Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Current Analysis. Prior to his role at Current Analysis, van Gorder held senior vice president of sales positions for InPhonic Inc. and VeriSign Inc. Mr. van Gorder holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and an Executive Masters of General Management Degree in Marketing and Information Management Systems from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland at College Park.
Rich Earley, Vice Chairman and CEO of Arxan Defense Systems
Richard Earley co-founded Arxan in 2001. He currently serves as CEO for Arxan Defense Systems, Inc. and as Vice Chairman of Arxan Technologies, Inc. Mr. Earley is recognized as a distinguished entrepreneur and investor with a proven track record of launching and building successful companies. He is a co-founder and General Partner of Dunrath Capital, a critical infrastructure-focused venture capital firm, where he is actively involved in launching and building several businesses and providing strategy consulting. Prior to Dunrath Partners, Mr. Earley served as President and Director of Synergy Software Inc. (an IT systems integrator). In 1997 he facilitated merging Synergy Software with Complete Business Solutions, Inc., which is currently publicly traded as Covansys Inc. (CVNS). Mr. Earley has also held executive general management and sales/marketing positions for two other IT software companies. Mr. Earley currently serves on several corporate boards, the Defense Trade Advisory Group, DHS's Critical Infrastructure Protection Advisory Group, the Information Technology Sector Coordinating Council, and the Advisory Board for the University of Notre Dame's Gigot Entrepreneurial Center. Mr. Earley received his MBA from Benedictine University, a BA from the University of Notre Dame and completed Harvard University's Program for Senior Executives in National and International Security.
