Microsoft .NET is today’s programming platform of choice for many web and enterprise applications. It solves several fundamental software development problems - Interoperability, integration, and application extensibility. Its ease of development, support for all its languages and the resulting benefit of faster runtime, via the just-in-time compiler, are all factors driving .NET adoption.

However, being a managed language, .NET code does have one major disadvantage - .NET is highly susceptible to reverse engineering and tampering attacks. The end result is that the original code can be recovered which puts your IP at risk, accelerates the development of targeted malware, code theft and functional alteration.
