It's no surprise that mobile app security was the top challenge cited in the 2015 Executive Enterprise Mobility Survey. Sensitive corporate data is flowing to more and more connected devices, and security breaches frequently make headlines. Are we in a data security state of emergency? I spoke with Chris Williams, Founder and CEO of B60, about the state of mobile app security. He shares his view on 5 challenges and solutions:

    • Multiple devices and BYOD
    • Unsecure networks
    • Lost or stolen devices
    • Bring Your Own Apps
    • Other data leaks

As long as security measures are proactive, he says, organizations can stay ahead of security threats. Chris also shares his view on what the ideal, 3-dimensional security approach looks like. The three dimensions? Devices, networks, and apps.

For more on security, listen to the episode with John Aisien, from Mocana, on Driving Secure Usage of Mobile Apps. John and Chris agree that security measures shouldn't get in the way of usability, and John reminds us to think about risk management and employ appropriate levels of security based on the sensitivity of the data.
