The Arxan executive management team is made up of seasoned professionals, with a long track record of proven success. The management team is well poised to drive Arxan’s mission to provide advanced software security technology to the market place and superior customer satisfaction. As part of their mission, Arxan’s executives also engage in evangelizing the significance of software-based security technology that minimizes risk and maximizes profitability.
Tom Heiser is an advisor to TA Associates and the interim Chief Executive Officer of Arxan. Most recently Tom was EMC’s Executive Vice President leading Cloud Strategy and Execution with revenues of $23.2 billion in 2013. Heiser worked closely with the company’s executive leadership to evaluate the rapidly evolving Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) market segments. Previously Tom was the President of RSA, The Security Division of EMC, where he oversaw RSA’s business operations, worldwide sales and services, channel strategy, product development, marketing, strategic business and financial initiatives, IT, and technical support. Over his 30 year tenure at EMC, Tom’s executive leadership ranged from critical responsibilities in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, and positioning EMC for emerging market segments. Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting information systems from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Tom van Gorder
Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Channels
Tom van Gorder has more than 20 years of experience in senior level sales and business development positions at leading technology and information publishing companies. Most recently, he was Vice President, Global Channel Sales and Alliances for Macrovision Corporation, the market leader in content protection, software licensing and installation and digital rights management technologies. Prior to Macrovision, van Gorder was Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Current Analysis. Prior to his role at Current Analysis, van Gorder held senior vice president of sales positions for InPhonic Inc. and VeriSign Inc. Mr. van Gorder holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and an Executive Masters of General Management Degree in Marketing and Information Management Systems from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland at College Park.
Vice President of Business Development & Corporate Strategy
Jukka Alanen leads business development for Arxan, including strategic alliances, technology partnerships, major go-to-market and channel relationships, industry ecosystem development, and new strategic growth initiatives. Most recently, he was Vice President of Business Development and Alliances for Symantec Corporation where he led the company’s $900 million strategic partnerships portfolio with substantial growth and spearheaded expansion into several new markets and product categories. During his nearly 5 years with Symantec, he also led Strategy, Business Development, and M&A for a $2 billion business unit as well as Portfolio Product Management for Symantec’s $4 billion Enterprise Product Group. Before Symantec, he was with McKinsey & Company for 6 years, leading growth, new product business-building, go-to-market, strategy, and M&A initiatives for top high-technology companies. Mr. Alanen holds a M.Sc. in Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology and a M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from Helsinki School of Economics.
Vice President Product Management
Vince Arneja brings over 20 years of experience in executive and senior level technical product/program management positions with the last 12 years focused on product management and strategy in the domains of mobile application, endpoint and network security. Mr. Arneja¹s responsibilities include leading product strategy, defining corporate product roadmaps, pricing and positioning. Mr. Arneja joined Arxan from Sigaba, a leading email encryption provider acquired by Proofpoint, where he was an executive leading Government and Commercial Product Management. Prior to Sigaba, he served in a variety of senior product and program management roles at various software companies where his leadership helped lead to mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Arneja started his career as a software developer and was part of an IPO after working towards a Bachelor’s degree in CIS from Thomas Edison State College. He is also a graduate of various Executive Programs at University of California, Berkeley.
Chief Marketing Officer
Patrick joined Arxan in January 2014 as Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Kehoe has over twenty years of experience building and managing sales and marketing capabilities for software, hardware, and service providers in the High Tech industry. Over the past three years, he held leadership positions at Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) – a global provider of communications software and services. Most recently he was responsible for North American marketing and partner business, where he oversaw the development of the strategic plan and drove Market Awareness, Pipeline Generation, and Sales results. Previously, he managed SEN’s Global Marketing Strategy, Intelligence, and Operations. Prior to SEN, Mr. Kehoe held positions at Booz Allen Hamilton and MarketBridge, a Sales and Marketing Professional Services Firm, where his clients included: IBM, SAP, Symantec, and VeriSign. Among other areas of focus, he was responsible for market expansion, new product marketing, digital marketing, and social media. Mr. Kehoe has a track record of success in North America, Europe, South America, and Asia, and has spoken at conferences and corporate events on a variety of sales and marketing topics. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University and a MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia.
Chief Technology Officer
Sam joined Arxan in May 2015, with the mission to shape the technical directions and drive innovations.
Sam is a proven technology evangelist and leader with over 25 years of experience in both leading product development and professional services companies and he continues to be active in both startup and open-source communities.
Prior to Arxan, Sam was CTO for EPAM Systems (NYSE:EPAM), a leading product engineering service provider with over 10,000 engineers around the globe, with the goal to transform the company and bring focus to core engineering excellence. He has also spent close to 10 years with Oracle Corporation, where he led development groups as VP of Engineering, bringing multiple innovative and profitable products from concepts to market, including Oracle’s first in memory database, to more recently the Sensor/IoT Based Platform.
Chief Financial Officer
Warren Barratt joined Arxan in June 2014 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Barratt has over 30 years of senior level finance, administrative and general management experience. After starting his career in public accounting with Price Waterhouse, Warren has served as chief financial officer for a variety of private and public companies in the technology, life sciences, health care and professional services industries. Prior to Arxan, Mr. Barratt was Chief Financial Officer for CyOptics, a leading provider of optical chips and related components enabling bandwidth for high speed optical networks in the access, enterprise/data center and long haul/metro segments of the telecommunications industry, and for other emerging end market applications, such as defense and avionics, high performance computing, medical and security. Mr. Barratt has extensive experience raising public and private capital, managing merger and acquisition transactions and building and optimizing corporate infrastructures. He holds a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
Vice President of Finance
Michael Kelley joined Arxan in 2007 and is responsible for Arxan’s financial, legal, and HR operations. Mike has over 12 years of public and private technology experience working in the hi-tech sector. Mike’s management experience includes finance and accounting leadership at Costar Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSGP) where he was an integral part of the mergers and acquisitions team which helped drive significant revenue growth. He also served in an accounting management role at Broadsoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT) a world leading provider of VOIP technology. Mike holds an MBA from Loyola University of Maryland and a B.S. in Business Administration from Frostburg State University.
